This week, tickets went on sale for the seventh edition of FOCUS Wales, the music, arts and interactive festival that takes place each spring in town.

The previous event took place in May of this year and has been described by the organisers as being the most successful to date.

A spokesperson for FOCUS Wales said: “This has been by far and away the most successful edition of the festival ever! We’re really looking forward to building on this year’s success and making 2017 even more special.”

The 2016 event saw in excess of 7000 people (almost a 50% increase compared to 2015 figures) descend on Wrexham for the four day music and arts extravaganza – which took in performances from over 200 music acts, including The Joy Formidable, The Magic Numbers, Welsh Music Prize winner Gwenno, The Sunshine Underground, Los Campesinos! As well as a huge selection of the finest new artists from the Welsh music scene and around the world.

There were also keynote talks and panel discussions, featuring New Order and Joy Division founding member Peter Hook, punk icon Viv Albertine and representatives of music companies from around the world, including SXSW (USA), Festival No 6 (UK), Music Ontario (CAN) and lots more.

FOCUS Wales 2017 looks to be no exception, with organisers planning for an expanded arts programme and more headline acts in amongst another 200 brilliant new music acts from the UK and around the globe, the 2017 festival is set to be the biggest yet. First acts will be announced in the Autumn and, in the meantime, a limited amount of Super Earlybird passes (at just £30 each for the whole three day festival and exclusive VIP events) are available now, but selling fast!

FOCUS Wales Music Arts Interactive 2017 takes place on the 11th , 12th & 13th of May at multiple venues in Wrexham, North Wales.

FOCUS Wales is supported by Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government.
