Five men from the Wrexham area have been arrested following a series of burglaries at commercial premises in Wrexham Town Centre.

The five, aged between 17 and 27, were arrested at an address in Caia Park shortly after 09.30am this morning.

Detective Chief Inspspector Arwyn Jones said, “This was a focused operation, targeting specific individuals following a recent spate of high value burglaries in the town centre, the first being the blatant attack at a jewellers in the middle of the afternoon on the 19th of June.

“This morning, a team made up of both CID and uniformed officers executed a warrant at an address in Caia Park, and the males were arrested. Property, which we believe is linked to two of three burglaries, was also recovered”.

DCI Jones added , “In line with the Police Crime Commissioner’s priorities, we will ensure a safer neighbourhood. Local businesses are absolutely at that heart of our neighbourhoods and communities, and we will relentlessly, and proactively target those who seek to commit offences against them.”

The individuals are currently being held at Wrexham Police Station awaiting interview.
