‘Fire in the Sky’ over Wrexham as Meteorite is Spotted

Several followers of our @wrexham twitter account got in touch around 9.45pm on Saturday night reporting a bright light, or fireballs in the sky, and one person reporting speculation of a plane on fire.

It turns out that a very very bright meteorite was spotted entering the earths atmosphere, visible to large parts of the UK, however apparently the clearest in the north west / north wales area.

This amateur video is of the meteorite as filmed from the north of england, but is the same one as spotted in Wrexham and the surrounding area.
