Police Car Arson On Caia Park Street

UPDATE 10:50am: Police have confirmed this was an arson attack on a police vehicle.

A statement issued by North Wales Police reads: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a parked police vehicle was set alight in Wrexham this morning. The incident happened in Y Wern, Caia Park at 9.27 this morning.”

Inspector Paul Wycherley said: “This incident is not being connected to a deliberate fire at a boarded up flat last night in Garner Road at 6.52pm.

“The arsons are being investigated separately and I am appealing to local residents or anyone who may have information about either incident to call police on 101, quoting crime reference RC15166003 and S166270.”

Fire crews are currently tackling a police car fire in Caia Park.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that one crew from Wrexham is in attendance at a vehicle fire in Queensway, Wrexham.

Crews were called to the fire at 9:27am this morning and one hose reel jet and one breathing apparatus is being used to extinguish the blaze.
