The junction between Jeffreys Road and Box Lane where the most recent abduction attempt is said to have happened.

Fears have been raised after two apparent abduction attempts have taken place in Wrexham in less than a week.

The most recent incident took place as a 14 year old girl was walking home in the Acton area at approximately 10pm on Wednesday evening.

Megan Gregory was on her way home to Caia Park with a young male friend after spending the evening at a youth club in Gresford.

A shaven headed man had been following them and after her friend left her to go to his grandparent’s house the man quickened his pace.

As Megan reached the junction between Box Lane and Jeffreys Road she heard the man shout “oi” and began to run in a panic.

She tried to phone the police but dropped her mobile phone in the process, however, managed to reach a nearby pub where she contacted her mum who then arrived and called the police.

The man is described as being aged around 45, with a bald or shaven head and 5ft 8-9ins tall. Megan is said to have been left very shaken by the incident.

North Wales Police said that they were called at 10.46pm on Wednesday to reports of suspicious behaviour around the Jeffreys Road area and that they were investigating the incident.

The incident follows reports that an adult male with grey hair in a silver Ford C-Max had tried to abduct a teenage boy by pulling him into his car on Bryn Estyn Road close to Rhosnesni High School on Friday afternoon.

Police are looking into the incident and Wrexham Council have issued a warning urging children to be vigilant on their way to school.

North Wales Police said that it was too early to say whether the incidents were linked.
