Plans to extend a former village police station have been submitted.

Blueprint Architectural Services have put forward plans for a single storey extension at the Old Police Station, Chester Road, Gresford.

In October 2022 planning permission to turn the disused building into a children’s nursery was given the go ahead.

It was the second time that an application to use the former police station as a nursery has been debated by councillors, after previous plans were rejected by both the local authority and planning inspectorate.

The amended application included a reduction in the number of children the nursery could accomodate and the introduction of a car sharing scheme for staff.

Eventually six full-time and four part-time staff will work at the facility.

As part of the redevelopment of the building the ground floor will be converted into a play area, with a changing area and entrance hall / buggy park.

The first floor will be used as office space and a staff room.

The application will be considered for approval by Wrexham Council at a later date.
