Wrexham’s two National Trust properties will be closed tomorrow due to the ‘forecast high winds’.

While there are no weather warnings in place for Wednesday 11 January, the Met Office are forecasting gusts of up to 46mph by midday.

As a result both Erddig and Chirk Castle will be closed tomorrow.

A statement posted on the Chirk Castle Facebook page, reads: “Chirk Castle and the estate will be closed on January 11th 2017, due to forecast high winds.

“Passing underneath the many veteran trees across the estate can be dangerous in very high winds, so we have taken the decision to ensure the safety of visitors.”

A similar statement is also available on the Erddig Facebook page: “Erddig will be closed tomorrow 11 January due to the forecast high winds for the Wrexham area. Take care everyone.”
