Emergency services called to crash in Hightown

Update: The road has since reopened. One person was take to hospital.

A family member has said late Sunday evening, “Pleased to say my son is on his way home from hospital. A bit battered and bruised but nothing broken. He has been very lucky. A huge thankyou to everyone who helped in any way and for all your good wishes. We really do appreciate all your kindness.”

Emergency services are in attendance at a crash in Hightown.

The incident took place between Kingsmills Road and Whitegate Road at around 8:15pm.

We’re told that police have blocked off part of the road and that the collision involved a car and a motorbike.
