The Fire Service confirmed ‘deliberate ignition’ of a vehicle in the early hours of this morning near Third Avenue in Gwersyllt.

North Wales Police confirmed the incident took place just after 5:30am this morning, with the vehicle involved being a Vauxhall Astra. Police say the investigation is ongoing and encourage any witnesses asked to contact them on 101 quoting reference U044640.

The Fire Service told Wrexham.com that the Bank Holiday weekend was a quiet one for them, mainly responding to false alarms.

There was an electricity pylon incident near Cefn-Y-Bedd, where arcing electric caused a problem but was made safe.
