District inspector thanks “local community for their assistance” after five arrested and two firearms seized in Penycae

A man “wanted on warrant for a number of weeks” is amongst those arrested at an incident in Penycae.

Armed police attended a property at Delfryn, Penycae earlier this morning.

Two firearms were recovered and five people were detained by police.

Following this morning’s incident District Inspector Gavin Gilmore has thanked the local community for their assistance.

He said: “I want to thank those who came forward to assist officers with information following an incident in Delfryn this morning.

“It led to five arrests in total, including a local 26-year-old man who has been wanted on warrant for a number of weeks.

“He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and an assault on an emergency worker.

“This was a great result and I want to thank the public for their patience while officers dealt with the incident.”
