A dispersal order will be enforced in the Caia Park area and high visibility police patrols will be carried out this evening following a spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour in the area last night.

Between 7pm and midnight on Wednesday 21st February a small group of youths were reported to a have been throwing stones at properties in Archers Way, Trevenna Way, St David’s Crescent and Y Wern.

In three incidents windows were smashed and a police car parked in the area on separate business had its windscreen damaged.

Town Inspector Paul Wycherley said: “The vandalism and anti-social behaviour displayed last night will not be tolerated. We are actively pursuing those responsible for this criminal behaviour and we expect to be making arrests.

“In the meantime I would like to reassure local residents that extra officers will be patrolling the area and will gladly receive any information the community may have which could help our investigation.

“This evening there will be a dispersal order in place covering the whole of Caia Park.

“Any group that gathers will be asked to move on. Those who refuse to obey the order or engage in anti-social behaviour will be arrested.”

Anyone with information about last night’s incidents is asked to police on call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or use the North Wales Police webchat.
