Police are appealing for information after the windscreen of a patrol car was smashed in Wrexham last night.

The incident happened on Archers Way in Caia Park at around 7pm on Wednesday evening.

PC Thomas Hough told Wrexham.com, “no one was in the car at the time as officers were making enquiries into another incident, we were alerted to the incident by a member of the public.”

One resident told us last night “Kids smashing cars windscreens on Archers Way Caia Park, One of the windscreens was a police car”

In an update on twitter early this morning PC Hough said:

“What is the world coming to? An emergency service vehicle is off the road tonight due to a mindless act of vandalism on Archers Way, Caia Park, Wrexham tonight.

“We are now a vehicle short, this does not get replaced, we do not have a back up.

“This vehicle will be off the road until it is repaired, this could be some time, we have to look after these vehicles & a member of public has decided to put someone’s life at risk.

“I urge any witnesses to this on 21.2.18 approx 19.00hrs to call 101 ref W022198”
