An unusual appeal has been issued by rural police officers today who say they have received a report of a “possible sighting of a larger than usual cat” in the Wrexham area.

Police say the cat was reportedly seen crossing the A5 between Chirk and Llangollen in the early hours of this morning.

There are no photos or videos of the animal – however sightings of anything similar should be reported to police.

The Rural Crime Team say: “Please don’t approach but call us so we can check it out on 101.”
