Cyclist & Car Involved in RTC Near Chirk

Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Chirk earlier this afternoon.

Earlier this afternoon emergency services were called to a RTC involving a cyclist and a car on the A5 near Chirk.

The incident took place at around 1:51pm this afternoon near the B5070 Whitehurst Roundabout and B5434 Gate Road.

A spokesperson for North Wales Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.51pm to a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a car on the A5 near Chirk.

“We sent two emergency ambulances to the scene, and a man (the cyclist) and a woman (the driver of the car) were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.”

There is currently limited information available on the extent of their injuries.

The road is partially blocked as a result of the incident and police are directing traffic away from the area.
