Councillor urges objections to 5G mast in Borras as it is “not suitable for wholly residential area”
A Wrexham councillor is encouraging residents to object to a proposed fifteen metre 5G mast.
Cllr Debbie Wallice, who represents Borras Park ward, has said that a 15m phase 9 monopole and additional ancillary equipment has been proposed for installation at the Jeffreys Road/Box Lane Junction.
As the application, from CEP Telecoms, is in a pre-application consultation phase a formal application is yet to be lodged.
In a post on social media,Cllr Wallice said: “This does offer local residents the opportunity to directly write to CEP Telecoms Ltd. to formally object to their proposal.
“To confirm, I wholly object to this proposal and have written to CEP Telecoms Ltd. to express my objection. I would encourage local residents to also do similar.
In her formal response, based off “consultation with members of the local community”, Cllr Wallice states the mast and additional ancillary equipment are “visually inappropriate for the area” as the proposed structure “will reside at 15 metres above ground level, which is nine metres above existing artificial installations”
She adds: “The 15m phase 9 monopole and additional ancillary equipment will be installed within approximately two metres of privately owned land and approximately eight metres from privately owned property.
“The property in question has a large westerly-facing casement.
“The proposed structures are within a direct line of sight to the property and for that reason, will have an undeviating, constant and intrusive visual impact for the property owner in question.
“In addition to this, the proposed structure will also be in a direct line of sight for non-immediate residential occupiers living opposite and surrounding the proposed site.”
The councillor published email contact ( [email protected] ) and written address (CEP Telecoms Ltd, 1a Station Court, Station Road ,Guiseley ,LS20 8EY) with reference WRX26879 for anyone who wishes to feedback.
Cllr Wallice added, “It’s vital the local community shows a combined strength of support against the proposed mast.
“To assist in any formal objection, you can find the supporting planning documents.” (Pictured above)
