Calls have been made for bins in a Wrexham park to be emptied more regularly following complaints from a number of residents.

Earlier this week one resident sent us the images featured of two bins in Rhosddu Park which were overflowing with litter and bags of dog mess.

The pictures, which were also posted on the Rhosddu News and Views Facebook page prompted 25 comments about the bins – with residents voicing their frustrations about the mess and the time it has taken to clear it.

It was also pointed out that the bins in Spider Park in Acton Park are the same.

One person told us: “It shouldn’t take us posting things on social media to get the council to do things.”

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We can confirm that the bins at Rhosddu Park have been emptied, and they will continue to be cleared out regularly.”

We also queried if there were any plans to install any bins specifically for dog waste in Rhosddu Park and other areas in Wrexham.

Cllr Bithell said: “We are not aware of any special issues with the bins at Rhosddu Park, and have no plans to install new bins in the area.”
