A cleaning operative for Wrexham Council was injured yesterday by a ‘makeshift weapon’ found in a bin in Wrexham Bus Station.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon when a council operative working on behalf of Wrexham Council was emptying a bin in the bus station.

In images seen by Wrexham.com what was described as a ‘makeshift weapon’ appeared to be constructed from a pen or plastic tube with a razor or scalpel blade attached.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead member for the Environment and Transport, said: “We can confirm a cleaning operative with Cambrian Cleaning Services who operate on behalf of the council did receive hospital treatment for an injury sustained whilst cleaning the bus station.

“We are pleased to say he was able to return to work.”
