The Wrexham Bake Off returns for a 4th competition on Tuesday the 14th May giving local amateur and professional bakers the chance to compete in various categories for the chance to be crowned ‘Star Baker’.

The event kicks off at 7pm at the Bank Bar on High Street, Wrexham and is always a fun and lively event where bakers bring their cakes and produce to be sampled by a live judging panel before the Mayor of Wrexham awards the prizes later in the evening. Spectators are welcome to turn up and sample all of the cakes for a small charitable donation!

It’s a charity event with all monies raised going to the Mayors charities which include Nightingale House Hospice which all previous Bake Off events have supported.

It’s £10 to enter a category with every penny going to charity.

The Categories are:

Category 1 Best Show Stopper (PROFESSIONAL BAKERS ONLY)
This is a cake designed to wow the judges but can be in any shape, size, style that you wish.

Category 2 Best Show Stopper (NON-PROFESSIONAL BAKERS ONLY)
This is a cake designed to wow the judges but can be in any shape, size, style that you wish.

Category 3 ‘Matching Up’ This can be anything you like as long as there is 12 of them and they are as close to identical as possible. Perfect for showing off your biscuit or cupcake making skills. In previous years we’ve seen pasties and Scotch Eggs in this category!

Category 4 Best Gluten-Free/VeganTreat! (This can be anything GF/Vegan – cake, biscuits, anything, you choose!)
