A snake trail of brightly decorated stones in a local country park are set slither off to a new location to act as a reminder of the creative spirit which has helped so many through lockdown.

The colourful stones have been placed on both the Llay and Gwersyllt sides of Alyn Waters Country Park during the pandemic.

Ahead of the winter and bad weather, Wrexham Council have announced that the “fantastic pieces of spontaneous environmental art will soon be slithering off” to be relocated in a slightly safer location in the parks.

They will remain there to serve as a reminder of the creative spirt showing by the community over the last few months.

The stones of the Gwersyllt/Bradley snake will be collected for relocation near to the visitor centre on Wednesday, August 26, and the Llay snake will be collected the following week on Wednesday, September 2, to be relocated in the park.

If you would like to add a decorated stone to the snakes they will remain in situ for the next few weeks.

If you do not want your stone to be part of the relocated ‘covid coils’ then please feel free to collect them before these dates.
