Over the next few weeks Coleg Cambria will be holding a number of open evenings across its six sites to provide prospective students with the opportunity to apply for full-time courses starting in September 2014.

The open evening events will begin at Coleg Cambria Deeside between 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday 13th November closely followed by similar events at Coleg Cambria Yale Grove Park, Bersham Road and Wrexham Training on Thursday 14th November, again between 5pm and 8pm.

During the following week open evenings will be held at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi on Wednesday 20th November and Coleg Cambria Northop on Thursday 21st November both between 5pm and 7pm.

Across the college’s sites across north-east Wales, there are a number options available for prospective students to study. Those interested in vocational and A level subjects can choose from courses at the Deeside, Wrexham Training and Yale Grove Park and Bersham Road, whilst a wide selection of land-based subjects are available at the Coleg Cambria Llysfasi and Northop.

Pupils leaving school in 2014 and their parents, along with mature students interested in a career change, are invited to come along to meet college tutors to gather information and advice. With many courses filling up quickly, prospective students are encouraged to apply on the night to avoid missing out on a place on their chosen course.

Visitors will also be able to look around the excellent modern facilities at all sites including the Construction Skills and Engineering Centres, Sixth Form Centres, Salons, Travel Agent, Lifestyle Fitness and the College’s two restaurants; Rendezvous and Y Celstryn. At Coleg Cambria Llysfasi students can view the hostel block and at the Northop site the newly refurbished Small Animal Centre will be open. Students from the student ambassador scheme will also be on hand to answer questions about their experiences as a student.

Coleg Cambria Principal and Chief Executive, David Jones said: “We look forward to meeting prospective students and their parents and can guarantee they will find a friendly welcome and plenty of information to hand. Every year hundreds of our students leave us with skills, knowledge and qualifications that lead them to employment or higher education. Whatever leaners want to do with their future, we’re confident we have a course that meets their needs.”
