Coleg Cambria is continuing its drive towards a sustainable future by adding the first electric vehicle to its fleet.

The Nissan Leaf 200 100% electric van will be used to support college operations, has no CO2 emissions and can be charged from a domestic socket.

Rick Bedson, Head of Estates & Facilities at Coleg Cambria said: “The van is a positive addition to the college vehicle fleet and will help in reducing the College’s carbon footprint and reduce air pollution.

“We hope that is the first of many as we look to replacing more of our fleet with electric vehicles.

“At Coleg Cambria we are fully committed to creating a sustainable future and adopt an active approach to the protection and conservation of the environment.

“All of our new buildings are designed to showcase and demonstrate the most up to date renewable technologies, including solar panels, air and ground source heating systems, rain water harvesting, green roofs, LED lighting and building management systems.”
