Coleg Cambria have launched a consultation on their proposed Welsh Language Scheme.

Following the merger of Deeside and Yale colleges on August 1st a Welsh Language Scheme has been developed for the new merged college which sets out how the college will treat the English and Welsh languages on a basis of equality.

David Jones, Coleg Cambria Principal and Chief Executive said: “We are fully committed as a college to promote bilingualism, Welsh culture and heritage. The name Coleg Cambria was carefully chosen as we are very committed to being ‘a college for Wales’, and immensely proud to be a truly Welsh institution in North East Wales. This is a strong feature in our Core Values and is demonstrated through the development of this Welsh Language Scheme”.

A copy of the Scheme can be found on the college website www.colegcambria.ac.uk or by phoning 01978 317020.

If members of the public would like to make comments on the Scheme, they can do so by e-mailing [email protected] or by sending a letter to Llinos Roberts, Coleg Cambria, Wrecsam, LL12 7AB. The consultation will end on January 31st 2014.
