A Coleg Cambria alumni is flying high with the launch of his own drone business

Gavin Taylor, studied Fabrication and Welding at Coleg Cambria from 1999 – 2003 and now runs his own successful commercial drone business called Dragonflight Drones.

Entrepreneur Gavin decided to build his business after he saw the potential of using new technology alongside the skills he had gained at college.

He now provides a service to his clients that reduces their costs, time and safety risks by implementing new skills with old.

With this technology, construction industries can monitor progress reports with real time reports. Engineering industries can inspect hard to access areas in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional methods. There are also many other applications that can be used.

Gavin said: “College was an enjoyable and exciting time, I achieved the qualifications and knowledge to set me up to pursue a future in engineering.”
