The chilly and frosty weather continued this morning, with many waking up to frozen car windows and slippery pavements.

Across Wrexham there was a lot of ground frost this morning, with many people still left with snow in their gardens from Boxing Day – one person even told us that the locks to their shed had completely frozen overnight.

Today is expected to be one of the coldest days of the weeks, with temperatures expected to hit a mighty four degrees – with lows of minus two later on in the evening.

Many of the main roads around the town were clear, however some of the side roads and pavements remained very frozen and icy.

Gary tweeted Wrexham.com earlier this morning, saying: “A 5 min walk to postbox just took me 20 mins. Hard frost very slippy.”

Daz also tweeted to say: “Hard frost cars and roads white in Wrexham, scrape all windows before driving #icanseeclearlynow.”

The MET Office forecasts considerably milder weather for the end of the week / New Year, with temperatures of up to 12 degrees currently in place for Thursday.

Over the past couple of days we have been sent some brilliant photos of the snowy / frosty countryside, which are featured below:
