Children across Rhos have been posting their letters to Santa thanks to an event organised by a local councillor.

On Saturday 11 December 2021, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP made a visit to the Spar in Rhosllanerchrugog to attend the event, which had been organised by local Councillor Paul Pemberton.

Also in attendance was Graham Thomas, who was dressed as a Minion from the Despicable Me franchise.

Children who posted a letter will receive a letter back from the North Pole.

Ponciau Councillor Paul Pemberton, said: “This is turning into an annual event and something children look forward to. It’s good to spread a little joy during these difficult times.

“I have checked with the North Pole office today and all the letters have been received and replies are being worked on by one of the elves by the name of Catherine.

“They will be posted as soon as they are ready.

“Thanks to the staff at the Spar, Simon and Graham and not forgetting our in house elf and the children for taking part and making this possible”.

Simon Baynes MP said: “It was a pleasure to come along and take part in this festive event.

“It was really appreciated by the children and their families after what has been a difficult year.

“I’d like to thank County Councillor Paul Pemberton, Rhos Community Council and the volunteers who made this possible and also Tan Rogers and Christine Ellis, who work in the Spar in Rhos and made us feel very welcome”.
