A charity quiz night in aid of Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital will take place tomorrow evening.

The quiz which has been organised by Rob Clarke and Carrie Moneypenny will take place at the Catholic club Wrexham.

Ronald McDonald House offers the opportunity for families of sick children to stay on the Alder Hey grounds near their child for as long as the child is in hospital. It relies on donations and fund raising to keep it open.

The quiz has been organised after Rob and Carrie’s son was taken ill and treated in the hospital last year.

Rob Clarke said: “This is a charity very close to our hearts as last October our then eight-week-old son was rushed to Alder Hey for life saving treatment. We were very fortunate to be able to use the facilities at Ronald McDonald House for a week while our son was recovering in hospital.

“It was invaluable to us at what can only be described as the worst time of our lives. Thankfully he has now made a full recovery.”

A number of local companies have also donated prizes to raffle off – including Wild About Hair, Wrexham Ink, Glow Beauty, DW Gym, Wrexham Lager, Odeon, Tenpin and Nandos,

There will also be the opportunity to win some autographed Wrexham FC memorabilia.

Anyone can come along and take part. Its a general knowledge and fun quiz, £10 a team for up to five people and starts at 8pm.
