Two cars in Wrexham have been damaged after they were set alight in the early hours of the morning.

Fire crews were called to two vehicle fires in Stockwell Grove, Hightown at 2:41am this morning.

The vehicles, which are not linked in any way, were parked approximately 30 metres apart. Extensive damage was caused to both cars.

One pump from Wrexham attended the scene and two hose-reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.

It is believed the cause of both vehicle fires was due to deliberate ignition.

Fire crews were also called to a separate incident in Heol Y Plas, Cefn Mawr at 4am.

Crews were called to a rubbish fire in the early hours of the morning. One pump attended the scene and one hose-reel jet was used to extinguish the fire
