Car parks at Wrexham’s country parks are set to reopen for public use this weekend.

They were closed in January by Wrexham Council and North Wales Police after concerns over the number of people travelling to Wrexham’s country parks, particularly about Alyn Waters in Llay.

At the time a strict stay at home level four lockdown was in place, which required exercise to “start and finish from your home”.

Today the local authority confirmed that in line with the “stay local” guidelines currently in place, car parks at Wrexham’s country parks will reopen this week.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “We know many of you have missed visiting them due to the restrictions, but please remember to follow the guidelines and stay 2m apart from other park visitors.”
