A car and a lorry have collided outside the Sharp factory in Llay around 10pm this evening.

An eyewitness has told us the car ended up ‘under’ the lorry, which had a Stobart trailer attached. We are told the incident occurred as the lorry was reversing with the car, a light coloured Vauxhall van, then hitting the lorry.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene, with cutting equipment being used on the car to release the driver. The lorry driver was uninjured in the incident and the driver of the car has been taken to hospital.

We are told the incident has broken the air lines on the lorry complicating recovery, so the road is likely to be closed for a while yet.

Fire service crews began to leave the area around 11:30pm, with recovery crews attending the incident.

Wrexham Green Watch later tweeted:

Evening Of Road Incidents

Earlier this evening we went past one incident ourselves outside the old Groves school, and were sent pictures and comments from people involved in a nasty looking incident in Brymbo.

Thankfully the above incident appears to have not resulted in any injuries, as those involved and those who stopped to help took to social media to discuss it.

The above incident occurred opposite the police station in the town centre, however we have been unable to discover further details due to it being ‘out of hours’ for such queries. We will endeavour to update in the morning.
