A vehicle has been left with significant damage after it was set alight by arsonists in Caia Park late last night.

Shortly before 11pm last night there were reports of a car arson in the Caia Park area of Wrexham, with one person contacting us to say ‘another car had been set alight’ in Gwenfro.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed they were called to a vehicle fire in the Gwenfro area of Caia Park at 10:53pm last night.

One crew from Wrexham attended the scene – using one hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the blaze.

As a result of the fire the inside of the vehicle was left with 100% smoke damage and the rear bumper was destroyed.

It is believed that the vehicle had been set alight deliberately.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed that a red Ford KA was damaged as a result of the arson attack.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any further information is advised to contact North Wales Police U053586.
