Caia Stand Off Man Charged Over ‘Firearms Related Offences’

A 26 year old local man has been charged over the disturbance that closed areas of Caia for several hours.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Harrison at Wrexham Police Station said; “Matthew McKenzie , a 26 year old local man has been charged with firearms related offences following the incident in Wrexham on Wednesday 16th December 2015. He has been remanded to appear before Wrexham Magistrates this morning”

“The investigation into the incident, which caused considerable disruption to the community of Caia Parc, continues and I would appeal to anyone that may have information that will assist with the investigation to contact North Wales Police.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed events to contact police on 101 or anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference S191601.
