Update 9:15am It appears water supplies are, and have, resumed in the affected area, although ‘murky’ water is still being reported due to the overnight problem.

Update 8:30am Some people are waking up to brown water, with auto calls being made in the Wrexham area with the usual advice, “Burst pipes, changes in direction or speed of water flow and old plumbing and pipe work can cause your water to be discoloured. It may look orange, yellow, brown or black when that happens. On the whole this can be cleared quite quickly by running your tap for about 20 minutes.”

Hafren Dyfrdwy also say, “Our teams are still carrying out the repair to the pipe on Croesnewydd Road. To allow them to work safely we have had to use 2 way traffic lights. We’re sorry if this causes any disruption but we aim to have things back to normal as quickly as we can.”

Update 7:15am: There are still issues being reported with water supplies in the Wrexham area Hafren Dyfrdwy says it is investigating, an update on their website states,

“We’ve been made aware that some customers may be experiencing supply interruptions as they wake up this morning.

We’re on our way to investigate this further and will update you on here as soon as we know more.We apologise for any disruption this may cause our customers this morning.”

Update 3:30am: Hafren Dyfrdwy has said,“We’re happy to say that all customers should now have water back through their taps. We’d like to thank you for your patience while this essential repair was carried out.

“There are some customers who may have discoloured water this morning. This is nothing to worry about. Our teams are still carrying out the repair to the pipe on Croesnewydd Road.”

Update 00:19am: Hafren Dyfrdwy have been in touch to tell us, “Our teams are on site now, and they’re working hard to get supplies back on as quickly as possible by moving water around our network of pipes and bringing water into the area from elsewhere.

“Once we have supplies back on we’ll then look to fix the burst pipe.  We want to say sorry to anyone affected and to reassure you that we’re working hard through the night to get things back to normal as soon as we can.”

Update 11:08pm Hafren Dyfrdwy have updated to say, “We are aware that customers in the area have no water. Our team are on their way to investigate and get water supplies back to normal as soon as possible.”

Police are also asking people to avoid the Croesnewydd Road area.
