A new Burger King on Eagles Meadow opened its doors to the public on Saturday.

Back in October we reported that a planning application for the ‘Home of the Whopper’ had been submitted, and is believed to have created around 20 jobs.

The food outlet is based in the old Listers furnishing and interiors store on Eagles Meadow. The unit has remained vacant since Listers closed down in July.

When we walked past on Saturday, there seemed to be a fair few people popping into Burger King, and a lot of children wearing the well known Burger King cardboard crowns.

Although, the Home of the Whopper sign was slightly hidden with the ring of balloons. The word ‘Whopper’ was still visible though!

The new Burger King joins a number of food outlets on Eagles Meadow, including the Real China, Nandos, Frankie and Benny’s, Debenhams,  Starbucks, Tenpin, Greggs and Costa Coffee,
