Break-in at beloved Wrexham community facility
A beloved community facility which celebrates Wrexham’s mining heritage has been targeted by thieves.
This morning staff at the Miners Rescue Station, on Maesgwyn Road, arrived at the site to find that a brick had been thrown through a front window.
It is believed that the incident took place overnight.
Charity money, stock and the float were all taken from the premises.
A spokesperson said: “They broke in by putting a brick through the front window they broke in to the cafe, taking the float and charity money.
“They also took some stock.
“They then went on to kick in doors to the workshop, store room and the fire doors to the rear of the building.
“We are closed today and tomorrow (Saturday 6) – we will be open for Sunday lunch.”
The spokesperson added: “We would thank everyone for the fantastic support.
“It has been so upsetting but the love shown to the Rescue Station has been amazing.”
