Branding Company To Suggest New Names For Wrexham’s Arts & Market Hub
What to call Wrexham’s new OW People’s Market arts development was the subject of a workshop held recently at Wrexham County Borough Museum.
Wrexham Council say ‘enthusiastic and optimistic representatives’ from across the Arts and Markets sector in Wrexham attended and spent time with Cardiff based branding company Elfen.
Wrexham Council report that ‘the general feeling amongst the focus group was that a new name would be required for the £4.5 million town centre arts facility and Elfen will report back soon with their suggestions for consideration by the focus group’.
Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities, Partnerships, Public Protection and Community Safety, who attended the event, said: “The workshop was a hive of activity and produced both interesting and unusual suggestions for names. We are grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment of our partners and I look forward to receiving the recommendations from Elfen and to announcing the final name for this new facility for the arts and market sector in Wrexham.”
The £4.5 million development is due to be completed in 2018 and is supported by funding from the Arts Council for Wales, the Welsh Government’s Vibrant and viable Places and Wrexham Council.
Throughout the works, members of the public are reminded that the businesses within the South Arcade are open as usual.
Updates on the project can also be found on the new noticeboard within Cafe in the Corner in the South Arcade, so we encourage you to visit!
