There are power issues in the Wrexham area this Christmas Day evening after a ‘big bang’ was reported in town with a street cordoned off.

UPDATE: Power company update reads: “This has been caused by a fault on our network and is affecting properties in Beech Gardens, Kingsmill Road and the surrounding area. We will attempt to reset the network to restore your supply remotely. Our emergency response teams have been alerted and will be making their way to site to investigate and repair the fault by 10.45PM. “

Natalie sent us the above picture saying: “No power on rivulet road. Road blocked off fire engine and police opposite matalan.”

Adam said: “All kicking off down Rivulet Road. Fire and police, Big Bang just before the power cut. Street cordoned off.”

Earlier in a Christmas Day haze we saw several power dips, however unsure if it was the festive spirit or reality we asked twitter…

Reports came back of several issues around town…

Another picture of Rivulet Road was also tweeted:

Yesterday evening, Christmas Eve, power cuts also hit the area.
