The BBC Children in Need’s Rickshaw Challenge is set to pass through Wrexham tomorrow (Thursday), ending up live on BBC 1 from Chester Zoo later in the evening.

The team are expected in Wrexham just after 1pm however due to the nature of the event that is subject to change.

For those in town the route takes them through Hightown, across St Giles Way, up Vicarage Hill and down Regent Street before turning down Grosvenor Road and out to Chester Road to head north via the old Wrexham Road to Chester

The Rickshaw Challenge is a cycling challenge undertaken every year by 6 young people from Children in Need funded projects. Led by BBC presenter Matt Baker people are following the team’s progress via The One Show and are come out on the route to show support to the riders.

The 423 mile cycle is taking place from 9-16 November and will end in Media City in Salford during the Children in Need appeal TV programme.

This year you are being asked to ‘ride with’ the team, via raising money with your own cycling challenge (several taking part around Wrexham!) or making a donation.

The route through Wrexham is below, and you can view a clickable map via this link.

Below are the One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge team for 2018, the convoy itself is made up of a couple of event vehicles, a support / filming 4×4 and of course several cyclists!
