Staff at Lloyds Banking Group Chester have raised more than £21,000 in aid of the Wrexham Maelor Shooting Star Unit.

The money will enable the unit to launch a new complementary therapies service to enhance patients’ experience whilst undergoing care and treatment on the unit.

Over the past year staff have organised various fundraisers such as a hike-up Snowdon, a tough mudder challenge, cake stalls, VIP beauty / fragrance events and table top sales to raise £21,486.00 for the Shooting Star Unit.

Nicola Stubbs from Lloyds said “We wanted to do something special in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Merle Griffith-Bebb, who sadly passed away last year.

“We hope this lasting legacy will truly help other cancer patients and their families who are facing this challenging disease.”

Anne-Marie Humphreys, sister on The Shooting Star Unit added: “On behalf of the Shooting Star Unit, thank you so much to everyone at Lloyds and all their kind supporters for helping to make this dream a reality; we really do value your amazing efforts to enhance our patients’ wellbeing.”
