Award for young girl whose quick thinking helped reunite a child with his parents
A young girl has received the first ever community spirit recognition award from Acton Community Council for her quick thinking and kind actions.
In February of this year Maisy, who was 13 at the time, helped reunite a little boy with his parents.
After discovering the young child without his parents Maisy raised the alarm and alerted nearby resident, Tim Walley.
Thankfully her action helped resolve the situation and reunite the child with his parents.
Commenting on Maisy’s quick actions, Tim said: “Maisy was great that day, potentially stopping a serious situation.
“We need more people like Maisy and we need to share these good news stories more often”.
To celebrate her actions, Maisy was given the award at the Acton Community Council meeting on 21 of June.
She was joined with her younger sister and parents Martin and Niki who say they are hugely proud of their daughter’s achievements.
Cllr Becca Martin, speaking on behalf of the community council said: “We are incredibly happy to be able to reward Maisy’s actions back in February.
“She is a credit to the community and has sparked the idea of a “community spirit” award.”
Acton Community Council hopes to give out awards to local residents quarterly going forward.
