‘Attempted Robbery’ Of Security Van At Morrisons

Earlier this morning a Loomis security van was subject to an attempted robbery at the Morrisons supermarket on Ruthin Road.

North Wales Police have now issued an appeal for witnesses following the attempted robbery outside Morrison’s supermarket in Ruthin Road.

North Wales Police attended the scene after thieves attempted to force their way into a security van visiting the store.

Detective Sergeant Ros Hewitt at Wrecsam CID said  “At about 6.45 this morning a security van visiting the store was attacked by two men who attempted to force their way into the vehicle.  The alarm was quickly raised and the offenders fled empty handed.  Fortunately no one was injured during this incident.”

“Descriptions of the offenders and the number involved are still being ascertained however we are very keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious persons or vehicles to contact Police immediately.”

An eyewitness has told us of the ‘immense’ police response to the incident at the store and the surrounding area.

Police remain on the scene with an area infront of the store taped off and part of the stores car park closed as forensics teams work.
