An appeal for information has been launched following an armed robbery at a shop in Wrexham.

Police say two men entered the Co-Op shop in Bedwell Road, Cross Lanes at around 9.50pm on Sunday June 17 and threatened a member of staff with a knife before stealing cash from the safe.

The suspects, wearing black clothes had their faces covered and made off in a black vehicle with tinted glass, being driven by a third suspect.

DI Mark Hughes of Wrexham CID said; “Fortunately the member of staff wasn’t hurt, but was extremely shaken by this frightening ordeal.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen these suspects or the vehicle, possibly an old style VW Golf, or anyone who has information to contact police on 101 or use the live webchat quoting reference W081538.”
