A Welsh Government scheme has been given the vote of confidence from Wrexham AM Lesley Griffiths.

The Welsh Economic Growth Fund supports applications from businesses wishing to create new jobs and/or safeguard those which may be in question. Grants range from a minimum of £50,000 to a maximum of £100,000 and are not restricted by the type of sector the business operates in.

Lesley Griffiths is hopeful businesses in and around Wrexham could benefit from the levels of funding available:-

“This latest injection of finance reinforces the Welsh Government’s commitment to support business growth.”

“Everyone is aware of the current economic difficulties but this funding has the potential to safeguard and create many jobs around Wales and hopefully help stimulate the national and regional economies.”

“I trust businesses in Wrexham can profit from the scheme and I recommend they register their interest in the funding sooner rather than later.”

Expressions of interest are currently being invited and companies have until Friday 5th April to apply. Further information and advice can be found by visiting www.business.wales.gov.uk/growthfund or, alternatively, by ringing the business helpline on 0300 060 3000.

Successful claimants will be invited to submit a full application in May.

Later this year the Wales Economic Growth Fund looks set to play even more of a significant role as businesses will be invited to express their interest for grant requirements in excess of £100,000.
