A539 Llangollen road reopens after 3 vehicle collision

Update: The road has since reopened.

The North Wales Police roads policing unit have said as of 2:35pm the A539 is closed.

Update: Emergency services have confirmed one person was taken via air ambulance to Stoke Hospital, and a second individual has been taken by ambulance to the Maelor after the crash.

Update 3:55pm – the air ambulance has taken off from the field near to the incident.

An air ambulance landed near to the incident at just after 1:40pm.

The collision involved three vehicles and left two people trapped. North Wales Fire & Rescue Service cut them free. As of 2:50pm the air ambulance has not left the field near to the incident.

North Wales Police roads policing unit said earlier: “Due to a collision in the area of the Sun Inn Trevor, the road will be closed for some time. Please avoid the area.”

Denbighshire Council have said: “Due to a road traffic collision on the A539 between Ruabon and Llangollen all service buses along this route to include the X5 Coastline, T3 Lloyds Coaches and 5 Arriva Buses Wales shall experience delays of at least 45 mins”
