That being said, Labour on a national level are currently a joke. Their policies sound attractive, but are completely unworkable without substantially increasing the national debt. It’s more of a optimistic wishlist than an actual manifesto.
Then there’s the Tories wonderful track record, increasing the national debt from just above £1trn when they came in in 2010 to £1.72trn this year, whilst achieving sweet FA. Mr Osbourne’s Austerity’s magic numbers machine. I don’t think Hammond’s grasp of numbers are very strong & stable either.

So you’re criticising the Tories for not dealing with the debt, yet are simultaneously advocating a candidate whose economic policies will substantially add to the national debt. The cognitive dissonance is astounding.
This Labour manifesto is one of the most expensive anyone’s ever seen, at a time of high and tight budgets. Most of the money will have to come from increased borrowing.
Socialism is wonderful, until you run out of other people’s money.

TheTruthParticipantDo we really want more of the same? Let’s put it this way, Ian Lucas became our MP in 2001, and since that time Wrexham has been in steady decline, I don’t think anyone can deny this, and the rot set in before the Tories came to power. Now I know that correlation does not imply causation, there are other factors such as the inept council, but it certainly doesn’t reflect well on Lucas. I’m sure he’s done a lot of good things for the town in that time, MP’s like to take the credit when things are going well, but distance themselves when things are going wrong. Yes, Lucas is familiar to us, but to vote for him based upon that is textbook Stockholm Syndrome.
I also don’t think the photo-opportunity criticism against Atkinson is fair, it’s part and parcel of politics, Lucas certainly isn’t shy when it comes to exploiting a photo opportunity, nor should he be. I’ll admit that I don’t know much about Andrew Atkinson, and I’m hoping to learn more about him in the coming weeks. I’ll probably base my vote on local concerns since I feel that the situation in Wrexham is particularly desperate at the moment, we’re at breaking point whether people like to admit it or not. I’m not going to vote against Lucas just for the sake of it, but I am open to change if the right candidate comes forward.
TheTruthParticipantWhat’s Nathan Hughes done to deserve all this criticism? I respect someone that young sticking his neck out like this, he’s always out and about campaigning, and I’m pretty sure he was actually the first to answer the questions on here.
