is 300 people really a success? 180 artists entered, most that entered would attend and bring at least one person with them. I know at least 20 people that attended and had no work up. how do the numbers compare to last years at Undegun? all artists had to pay £10 per work with many entering more that one piece so that £3000 in prize money is not the reward it seems.

its like putting on a gig with local bands who bring their friends as fans its not a realistic projection of interest

The activities in Ty Pawb are the same ones local pubs put on before they close down, bring and buy sales, coffee mornings etc… its supposed to be an art hub! footfall wont increase till they put something of interest in. why would any art lovers from further than Chester want to come and see one room of art in a building the size of a warehouse

Kick them all out, they have 3 other markets in Wrexham they can use. Ty Pawb should just be for art, not all this knitting and sticker swapping that can be done in a community centre. If anything the stalls make the place look cheap and tacky. I understand the whole ‘they were in the market first’ debate. When Woolworths became a Chinese you weren’t able to get pick n mix anymore, the times they are a changing. would of made more sense to of had techniquest share with Ty Pawb and turn the whole place into a interesting space for visitors.

Problem with Ty Pawb is everyone was told it was going to be a ‘fantastic’ Art Hub yet the work inside has been mainly boring at best, art that you would shrug your shoulders at then carry on walking. Even the Liechtenstein and Hirst were poor let downs, its basically Pimlico with 4.3 million behind it.

The recent wall project (with a £5000 commission) went to the organisers friend who makes more work that people will shake shoulders at then carry on walking.
