Does anyone know if Flintshire’s councillors have to pay to park as their staff have to now pay for parking in the tired car park by the great white palace.
From the Theatre Clwyd web site it says-

    Parking
There is a large undercover car park operated by Flintshire County Council at the front of the building with tunnel access direct to the theatre foyer. The tunnel entrance has steps so is not suitable for those with access needs. Please be aware that the outside part of the multi-storey car park is currently undergoing some works and therefore is unavailable for parking. Whilst these repair works are ongoing if you do find the covered part of the car park to be full please park in the adjacent tiered car park.

Recently the council has introduced charges to use the car park however it is only 50p for a full day, 20p for 2 hours and is pay and display Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm.

It will encourage homeless people from outside of the area come and live Wrexham and the ex Groves campers to come back into the town. They can make their own Hightown Flats!
Why is it that this scheme seems to have an ‘open chequebook’ policy whilst everything else is being cut here there and everywhere oh sorry except for free parking for the privileged (a perk in this time of cuts) but this is Wrexham council with its two fingers to the council tax payers and let us not forget that at the end of the day this is a vanity project after all.
Has everyone forgotten the 2003 Theatre misadventure?

    Wrexham theatre plans abandoned
It is highly unlikely that a theatre will now be built in Wrexham
Plans for a new theatre and conference centre in Wrexham have been abandoned after councillors voted against going ahead with the multi-million pound scheme.
They decided to scrap the project because the costs were mounting and it was unpopular with locals.

The motion – which was carried by 24 votes to 18 – was made “in view of the real concerns expressed by the public”.

The figures for March are going to be impressive after the St David’s day parade passes the counter!

Didn’t the Christmas parade take this route too? The camels and reindeer would have counted as extras too.

It is only losing 33 car spaces so customers will park in sainsburys and walk across the road, which they do now when its packed so no problems.
