Mrs CreweParticipantCampaigned against the prison, I suppose he does not want prosperity and jobs for Wrexham?
Didn’t notice wxmlad had already rightly pointed this out, still rates being said twice!

Less services = less managers, less staff and yes there should be less Councilors. With fundamental changes to the shape of service delivery by Councils in the future means they should never remain the same and should adapt to their new role.
That is pretty much why Mark Pritchard, our illustrious leader threw his toys out of the play pen and said no no no we won’t play with Flintshire.
Mrs CreweParticipantSeveral years ago Chester was facing the death of the Rows, which is one of their big tourist draws. They dropped the business rates (NNDR) and the shops came flooding back. I did notice last time I was in Chester that the Rows seem to dying again and can only assume that the price crept up again. Yes Councils need to make money from NNDR to pay for bin collection, street cleaning and pavement maintenance etc, but they are doing themselves and the community they serve harm if the rates are so high no one can afford to run a business. Many businesses suffer and fail in the 1st year of business as they forget to budget or hugely under budget for NNDR.
Mrs CreweParticipantSainsburys have one and I think there is one in the entrance to the People’s market
Mrs CreweParticipantThere is a dress code for Council staff, they don’t get an allowance for buying their business clothes. This is utterly ridiculous, if it is a genuine business expense, they can claim the full cost back on their personal tax.
Mrs CreweParticipantI have no intention of deceiving any one about my political slip (whatever that is). I was in my youth a right on student thinking that my ideas were brand new and would change the world. But I grew up and started thinking for myself instead of quoting the Marxist drivel being spoon fed by college lecturers.
I’ve said quite clearly previously that the main problem with the country and especially Wales is they have turned politics into a religion. They follow a party regardless of policy as their family has always voted that way. I could tie a red ribbon to my cat and he would be voted as MP for Wrexham (he would be annoyed but couldn’t do a worse job)
I have admiration for the 10 members of the Labour Party who resigned because they felt that the Welsh Labour Party were riding rough shod over the people. They put the needs of their wards above blind party loyalty.
The Welsh Assembly will always by a socialist body, due to the cult following in Wales, and there will be little scrutiny or challenge if the mainly socialist Councils continue to slavishly follow the party line. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, unless more members of the local govt and the population start to challange the Welsh Govt we will completely lose our democratic voice, but that’s what socialism is really all about, they think that we are not capable of making the grown up decisions so they will make them all for us.
Mrs CreweParticipantWrexham is not an isolated case, I think in the next five years, as Leighton Andrews forces through the mergers, more Labour led Councils are going to find themselves in a political and moral upheaval. For Councils who are not majority Labour, it is easier to stand up to the Welsh Govt. If ever there was an example of why party politics should stay out of local govt, this is it.
BBC News – Six Bridgend councillors suspended over merger vote
Mrs CreweParticipantIt was run by the Council when I worked there, but it might have been signed over to a charity in the asset transfers. I seem to remember someone saying that it was like Groves School which has an educational use covenant, there was a legal requirement for the land to be used for the community. I suppose they could include a new hall in whatever development they have planned.
Mrs CreweParticipantIs the Memorial Hall going to be pulled down, I thought there was a covenant on the building?
Mrs CreweParticipantSorry to disappoint you lads, but I am not going to indulge in an online arguement with a stranger, for your edification. He Has told his version of the story, I’ve told mine. What or who you believe is immaterial I neither court nor care about your good or bad opinion of me. You will have to find your entertainment elsewhere.
