    Maybe we should revert to unpaid Councillors, and attract those willing to give their time freely for the benefit of the community. Many people already do that in a wide variety of roles. The old adage ask a busy person to do something and it will get done still holds true.

    Even with the availability of zoom, five councillors were absent from the Planning Committee and Executive Board members were absent from one of the very few meetings were they actually held a vote that wasn’t unanimous.They receive their full salary regardless of how many meetings they miss, or contributions they make. Perhaps they should introduce performance related pay.
