I see that plans have been approved for 16 one & two bed flats to be built on the site of a community centre in Caia Park. Why do the council seem determined to house all the misfits on this one estate? They will most probably house the addicts as did all the other flats which had to be demolished. A few pensioners bungalows would be much more in keeping so that 3 bedroomed houses could be re-allocated for families. So sorry for the law abiding people on this estate. So much for green spaces.

Just a slight counter to this Zinger, not long after Herbert Jennings was built there was an initiative to move a few problem families from Queens Park to some houses in Herbert Jennings to see if they would be less of a problem into a different and new area.

Apparently the project failed because instead of the people moving there stepping up they brought the area down, with the likes of washing machines, furniture etc. etc. being chucked into the gardens, along with other anti social behaviour.

Counter to that of course is that there were and still are many other good people in Queens Park/Caia many of whom have been friends over the years.

Agree houses would be preferable but at least with flats people get their own space and they are much better living accommodation than HMO’s. The Covid pandemic has made people realise the importance of their own personal living space and a garden , how long before the government adjusts its planning ideas to match ?

MP1953 Exactly but wouldn’t you think that they would learn from mistakes of the past? Flats are not a good idea where they have already demolished heaven knows how many. 16 on the site of a small community centre? Talk about cramming them in.
