A sad story on wrexham.com today, The Pebble chippy has closed.

The story says it was in Wrexham for 22 years but correct me if my memory fails me but I think it was more than 40 years.

I seem to remember The Pebble was originally in Queen Street near to the old Library in the early 70’s.

A sad day for Wrexham either way.

With thanks to ‘redstripe121’ who posted a video of his pictures on YouTube, I’ve lifted one that shows what I remember as the original site of The Pebble.

It’s been up for sale for some time now but each time someone showed interest in it they were put off by the
business rates. It is a shame to have yet another closure.

I seem to remember the Pebble where Gerrards is now. There was also a church close by.

Both were open at one time. The Argyle st one was named “The Pebble Dash”

I thought that too but then read “We had the business for 22 years, it has been in Wrexham for about 25 years or more before we bought it.”

So much for being a pie and chips town ………. a real pity!
